WakeFeed Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 8, 2026
WakeFeed saves selected podcasts and videos for offline playback. Your library and playback settings are stored on your device. Fetching content, checking updates and validating Pro purchases involves network requests; buying a hosted license or contacting support involves additional information described below.
Who is responsible
This policy covers WakeFeed and its PZB-operated download, support and connected services. PZB, Prestolnica Zdravja Bled, d.o.o. (PZB d.o.o.), Ljubljanska cesta 8, 4260 Bled, Slovenia, is responsible for its own app-operation, support and commercial records. Registration number: 6305733000. VAT ID: SI74779931. For business apps, the organisation using the service can be the controller of its customer, staff or guest records; the relevant distinction is explained below.
For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, email info@pzb.si and mention WakeFeed. You can also write to our postal address above. This app policy is separate from the pzb.si website privacy policy.
What WakeFeed stores on your device
WakeFeed for Android (package com.pzb.wakefeed) stores your selected sources, episode information, downloaded audio or video, download queue, playback progress and app settings. Settings include download quality, scheduling, storage limits and retention choices. Local purchase or license state helps the app remember which features are available. The Play app is one free application with an optional Pro upgrade, not a separate Pro app.
This local information is used to build your library, resume playback, manage downloads and apply your preferences. Downloading an episode is not, by itself, an upload of your library to PZB. Android device backup and restore, if enabled for the app on your device, is governed by your operating-system and backup-provider settings.
Content requests and background downloads
The app contacts the podcast or video sources you select and their media-delivery providers to retrieve feed information, thumbnails and media. These services receive your IP address, requested URL, request time and normal network-request metadata. A requested URL can reveal which source or episode you are accessing. Sources can include Rumble; each publisher or platform controls its own request logging and privacy practices.
When you enable automatic downloads or periodic checks, WakeFeed makes these requests in the background, including while the screen is off. Automatic downloads use unmetered Wi-Fi; Android may delay work for battery or network reasons. Disable scheduled checks or downloads in the app to stop that background activity.
PZB's w3f.eu services receive requests for app configuration, available updates in directly distributed builds, and hosted license status. These requests expose normal server connection information, including IP address and request time. Hosted license checks also send the app package, app version and a randomly generated installation identifier to find the appropriate entitlement. This identifier is stored locally; it is not your phone's IMEI, advertising ID or a location identifier. It can appear in service logs because it is included in the request URL.
Ordinary playback does not require a PZB user account. The reviewed Android app does not integrate advertising, Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics SDKs, and does not automatically upload your playback history or media library to PZB.
Pro purchases and licensing
For Google Play purchases, Google handles the checkout and payment details. WakeFeed uses purchase information such as product ID, purchase token and purchase status to recognize, acknowledge and restore your entitlement. PZB does not receive your full payment-card details through Google Play billing. Google's processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
If you use the separate hosted Pro purchase flow on w3f.eu, we process the name and email you enter, your installation/user ID, selected payment method, order reference, amount, transaction reference where supplied, and payment/license status. These records are used to fulfil the purchase, activate the license, answer purchase questions and meet accounting obligations. Hosted checkout and donation pages can take you to an external payment service, whose own policy applies to payment details you give it. These flows are distinct from Google Play checkout.
Support and diagnostic information
If you contact us or submit a feedback or diagnostic report through a supported app or tester workflow, we process the message and any information included with it. The report service supports app version/build, device description, timestamps, error output, module name and diagnostic context. Messages or logs may contain source URLs or other personal information you include. Do not include passwords, private media or payment details in a report.
We use this information to answer you and investigate download, feed parsing or playback problems. The reviewed WakeFeed Android app does not contain an automatic diagnostic-report uploader; these support records relate to information you send or separate tester workflows. This policy does not describe reports as anonymous: technical context or your message can identify you.
Android permissions
- Internet and network state: fetch content and detect suitable download connectivity.
- Notifications: show download or playback status when you allow notifications.
- Foreground service and wake lock: keep an active download running and communicate its status.
- Boot completed: allow Android to reschedule previously configured background work after restarting.
- Install packages: the directly distributed APK can request Android approval to install an app update. This permission is removed from the Google Play build, which uses Play-managed updates.
The reviewed Android release does not request location, microphone, camera, contacts or SMS permissions. You can change permissions in Android Settings. Turning off a permission can limit the related feature without requiring you to submit additional personal data.
Purposes, legal bases and recipients
We process service and license information to provide the features or purchase you request (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)); support, diagnostic and connection information for our legitimate interests in maintaining a working service and investigating abuse (Article 6(1)(f)); and necessary transaction records to comply with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Optional permissions or consent-based features can be declined or withdrawn.
Recipients depend on the feature: your chosen content hosts, Google Play for Play billing, payment providers for a checkout you choose, and infrastructure or communication providers needed to operate downloads, licensing and support. We may disclose records where legally required. We do not sell personal data. These operational disclosures are not permission to use your library for unrelated advertising.
Third-party content and payment services may process information outside the EEA under their own arrangements. Where PZB appoints a processor involving a restricted international transfer, applicable GDPR safeguards are required. Do not assume a publisher's service is located in Slovenia merely because WakeFeed is developed here.
Retention, deletion and security
Downloaded files remain until you delete them or your configured cleanup/storage rules remove them. Remove unwanted sources and downloads in the app. Clearing app storage in Android Settings resets app-owned local records; uninstalling removes app-owned storage, but files exported elsewhere and device backups may need separate deletion.
Uninstalling does not erase hosted purchase or support records. Email info@pzb.si to request deletion of those records. We retain license records while needed to administer the entitlement, support and diagnostic records while needed to resolve the issue or related disputes, and transaction records for applicable accounting/tax requirements. The current hosted services do not promise a fixed automatic purge interval; deletion requests are handled individually, with legally necessary retention explained.
PZB's app service endpoints use HTTPS. Your chosen content source may have different transport and security practices. Local data also depends on your device security: keep Android updated and use a screen lock. No app, network connection or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Children and content choices
WakeFeed is not designed specifically for children. It accesses sources you select, so it does not guarantee that downloaded content is suitable for every age. If a child has supplied personal information to PZB, a parent or guardian can contact us to request appropriate deletion.
Your rights and how to contact us
Under the GDPR, where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time; this does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Contact info@pzb.si with the app name and enough information to locate your records, such as the email used for a purchase, order reference or installation identifier. Do not send passwords, payment-card details or unnecessary activity files. We may ask for proportionate verification and normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions. We explain any records we must retain.
You can complain to Slovenia's Information Commissioner or your local data-protection authority.
Changes to this policy
The date above identifies the current policy. We will update it when app features or data handling change. A policy update alone does not authorize a new use of sensitive data: where required, the app must explain the change and request permission or consent before that processing begins.
